©2024 THE MOONLIGHTERS BIG BAND OF LITITZ PA
The Moonlighters Big Band is based in Lititz, Pennsylvania, under the musical direction of Doug LaSala. All band members are from Lancaster County and range in age from the 20s to the 80s. The ensemble’s library includes tunes from the great big band leaders of the 1930s, 1940s and beyond. This includes music from the libraries of Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Les Brown, Artie Shaw, Harry James and many, many more. We have adopted Glen Miller’s “Moonlight Serenade” as our signature theme song. Lititz United Methodist Church, where we rehearse monthly, has been the band’s current home for many years. We perform year round at venues in Lancaster County ad the surrounding Counties. You can find us playing annual Trains and Troops 1940’s Swing Dance at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania on the first Saturday in November, as well as dances, weddings, retirement communities, churches, fundraisers and other events where people appreciate and enjoy the music of the Big Band Era. If you’ve never heard us, you’re in for a treat. Our VIDEOS page offers a preview of the sounds of the band and the music that we play. Be sure to view our schedule to see where you can listen and dance to the great music of yesterday. If you would like to book the Moonlighters Big Band for your event, click here.
